We’re taking a road trip to Danielson, CT known as the “Quiet Corner’ of the State where we will meet with leaders who represent small rural communities in our State. We look forward to hearing from Rep. Doug Dubitsky, Woodstock Planning & Zoning Chairman, Dr. Jeffrey Gordon and Rep. Anne Dauphinais on how the zoning bills will impact smaller towns.

State legislators have proposed A BUNCH of bills aimed at flooding towns with multi-family development projects and removing local control of zoning. They claim towns ‘ “exclusionary” zoning are keeping people of color OUT. There is zero evidence for this, as zoning regulation was originally adopted to protect property values.

Zoning may have become a national conversation but we need to show-up so people understand that unlike NY and CA, CT has a shortage of people problem not a shortage of housing problem! One size fits all plans do not work for all 169 towns. Inclusivity starts with engaging ALL stakeholders to ensure effective public policy is created that meets the objectives. Come on Saturday to learn about what’s in the bills.
